Job Description:
The provider will assist those who do not speak English as their primary language and have limited ability to read, speak, write, or understand English. This service will offer significant access to all programs and activities for individuals with limited English proficiency involved with DCS, whether on a custodial or non-custodial basis.
Qualifications:
- Comprehend both spoken and written forms of two languages.
- Speak both languages fluently.
- Ability to elect expressions in the target language that fully convey and best match the meaning of the source language.
American Sign Language
Job Description:
The provider will offer American Sign Language interpretation services to children and families involved with DCS. The goal is to bridge the communication gap between hearing individuals and those who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Qualifications:
- Fluent in American Sign Language.
- Possess a high level of proficiency in the English language.
- Have knowledge of and adhere to the Interpreter Code of Professional Conduct as outlined by the National Association of the Deaf (NAD) or the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID).
