Clinical Assessment

Job Description:

The provider will conduct assessments to evaluate individuals’ mental, emotional, and behavioral health. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  1. Conduct Initial Assessments:
  • Meet with clients to gather detailed medical, psychological, and social histories.
  • Administer standardized clinical assessments (e.g., interviews, surveys, diagnostic tests).
  • Evaluate symptoms, behaviors, and personal concerns to identify mental health disorders or other conditions.
  1. Develop Diagnostic Impressions:
  • Utilize clinical tools (e.g., DSM-5-TR) to diagnose potential mental health conditions.
  • Formulate diagnostic impressions and communicate findings to the client or referring physician/agency.
  1. Prepare Comprehensive Reports:
  • Write detailed assessment reports summarizing findings, diagnoses, and recommendations for treatment.
  • Ensure reports are accurate and comply with legal, ethical, and organizational standards.
  1. Collaborate with Treatment Teams:
  • Work closely with physicians, therapists, social workers, and other professionals to share assessment results.
  • Assist in the development of individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings.
  1. Provide Risk Assessments:
  • Evaluate and document any potential risks, such as harm to self or others.
  • Implement safety plans and crisis interventions when necessary.
  1. Follow-Up and Monitoring:
  • Reassess clients’ progress as part of ongoing treatment and care.
  • Adjust diagnoses and treatment recommendations as needed over time.
  1. Stay Informed and Compliant:
  • Keep up with advances in assessment techniques and mental health diagnostics.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant legal, ethical, and regulatory standards (e.g., HIPAA, local mental health laws).

  • Neuropsychological Assessment (Children and Youth)

  • Parenting Capacity Assessment
  • Psychoeducational Assessment (Children and Youth)
  • Psychological Assessment (Children and Youth)
  • Psychological Assessment (Adult)
  • Psychosexual Assessment – Adolescent (Ages 13-17)
  • Psychosexual Assessment – Adult (Ages 18 and up)

Qualifications:

  • Master’s or Doctorate degree in social work, counseling, psychology, mental health, or a related field (e.g., certified psychology assistant, LADAC Level I or II).
  • Licensed in the state of Tennessee or pursuing licensure.
  • Training in specific clinical assessments.
  • Previous experience in a clinical setting.
